The construction of a tower block next door cut out the light that used to fill these rooms; once it was a light-filled interior, today it's a sensual retreat which is perfect for parties! The apartment is festive, decorated in bold reds and greens with heavy velvet drapes and overstuffed sofas scattered amidst Asian antiques. Its owner scours China, Vietnam and the region to build her eclectic collection. One of her latest latest passions is Chinese plates: "On every trip to China I scour the flea markets and warehouses," she says. "The plates are all Ching dynasty and some still bear the stamped name of the family that once owned them." A SENSE OF OCCASION Asian ceramics and rich velvets add a touch of drama to the dining table. Reds, blues, greens and browns in shapes suited to Eastern dining are earthy yet sophisticated and celebrate the power of touch.
