world’s firsts in interior design: ChairRailway, complete with tunnels, that display Design 2000’s dining chair collection on a moving railway. And AromaZone is the world’s first widespread use of natural aromas
diffused through five sections of the store.

Following the international interest created by the opening of Design 2000
’s recently renovated Ocean Centre store, the company decided to advance
their revolutionary design concept for the new Lee Plaza in Causeway Bay.
The store’s colour scheme is total whiteness: walls, floors, ceilings and
partitions are all finished in white, adding a spacious feeling to the store.
This is particularly important in Hong Kong where rental space is now the
highest in the world. Again there are some of the world’s firsts here, the
ChairCarousel, Sleepzone, and revolving VideoAction Centre. These unique
features provide customers with a larger shopping choice, and add
excitement to an already revolutionary environment.

Another unit in the Design 2000 group is their Decorplan Interior Design
Division. Previously, this division handled only design and contract work
by special customer request. Due to popular demand, however, the division
is now expanding to meet a growing demand for Design 2000’s high quality
interior design service. The department is headed by a member of the
American Society of Interior Designers (A.S.I.D.). such membership guarantees
every client high quality design, professional attention to detail,
honestly-priced estimates and ethical conduct.

Design 2000’s high standards of customer service have delighted their clients.
For example, sales staff have visited customers at their homes on their days
off for special requests. When a king sized mattress proved difficult to deliver
because of a narrow staircase, staff rushed to the scene by taxi to help.
Temporary furniture have been supplied to clients while they waited for stock.
To cope with Hong Kong’s small flats, Design 2000’s staff will arrange for an
exterior hoist to get the furniture into the flats.
Design 2000 also has a “Declaration of Ideals” as their company philosophy.
